Late Night TV

Since I work the graveyard shift, I see some interesting programming on TV in the middle of the night on my days off. The worst are all the sleazy date/chat/phone-sex commercials. Like we are supposed to believe that this chick who is wearing next to nothing would really rather stay at home talking to random strangers rather than going out and meeting random strangers and then taking them home for “coffee.” I hate these commercials, although the one where she asks the guy’s shoe size at the end made me laugh.

The other night, I was watching reruns of some sitcom on cable and I was bombarded by these pathetic commercials. What’s worse was what other commercials they were showing. 3 out of every 4 commercials were for the phone-sex sluts and one was for things like diapers, or children’s books.

What are they saying? “While we are enticing you to call some skank, don’t forget your kids need diapers.” How thoughtful.
