Who Cares

I am so done with all things Tom and Katie (aka The Freaks) and since the wedding looms I want to pull my hair out.

Oh, and Katie, no matter how many thousands of dollars you spend on lingerie for the "honeymoon," it isn't going to change the fact that Tom done unwrapped that package already. You know what I'm saying?

And the fact that I came across a TV show that spent 5 minutes talking about said lingerie just makes me weep for this country.

iPod Update

I recently came into some new music due to a generous birthday donation from my 'rents and a gift from my wife. The result of this birthday glee was I had the joy of adding 5 new CDs to the ole iPod. I had to take some stuff off to make it fit, but hey, that's the circle of life for ya. And you know you want to hear about them.

Evanescence - The Open Door
Evanescence's first CD, Fallen, was awesome. The Open Door isn't quite as good. Maybe it's a little of the sophomore jinx. However, it is still full of dark, Gothic goodness.

The Killers - Sam's Town
No sophomore jinx here. In fact on my first few listens, I like this release better than Hot Fuss. However, my favorite song from The Killers is still 'Mr. Brightside' from Hot Fuss.

My Chemical Romance - The Black Parade
Hee hee hee. These boys have issues, and I love it. While I think that Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge is a little better track for track, The Black Parade has some outstanding individual tracks. My favorite being the first single 'Welcome to the Black Parade.'

Coldplay - X&Y
Not better than their previous releases. Not worse. Just Coldplay. I guess there is something to be said for consistency. However, this CD does contain my all time favorite Coldplay track, 'Fix You.'

30 Seconds to Mars - A Beautiful Lie
Who knew actor Jared Leto could sing? This CD is awesome. I was on the fence about buying it originally. I really like the first two singles, 'Attack' and 'From Yesterday.' When I listened to the previews tracks at F.Y.E I fell off the fence and knew I had to buy the CD. Needless to say, not disappointed. Great CD.

So, there you have it. However, there is another CD I would like to talk about.

Angels & Airwaves - We Don't Need to Whisper
When I found out that Blink-182 was going on hiatus (translation: breaking up) the blade sank deep. Blink-182 is my all time favorite band. I won't take the time to explain their genius here, for there isn't space, but trust me, genius it is.

Tom DeLonge went on to form Angels & Airwaves while Mark Hoppus and Travis Barker formed (+44). While we have a few weeks to wait for (+44)'s first CD, Angels & Airwaves first release 'We Don't Need to Whisper' has been out for a while.

My beautiful wife bought it for me when it first came out and every time I listen to it I think, "I have to write about this." It is incredible. If you don't like Blink-182 (what's wrong with you?) don't worry, Angels & Airwaves sounds nothing like Blink-182. I can't tell you how much I love 'We Don't Need to Whisper.' Have you ever listened to a CD and felt that it was important in some way, that it meant more than just a normal CD? That's how I feel about this CD. Awesome, awesome, awesome.
