Blaspheme
I know in some circles what I am about to say is the equivalent of saying, "I hate Jesus," but I just gotta say it.
I hate LeBron James.
Earlier this week, we saw some of the greatest men to ever play the game voted into the Hall of Fame. Jerry Sloan, David Robinson, John Stockton and Michael Jordan. You know what, King James? I have never seen any of these greats throw powder up into the air in a stupid pre-game ritual. I have never seen any of them do stupid picture poses before every game or perform ridiculous, choreographed handshakes.
As long as James keeps doing this stupid, punk-a crap, he will never be on the same level as these NBA greats, no matter what his skill.

I completely agree with you. I think there’s a fairly broad gap between “class” and “entertainment”. Bron-Bron is all about entertainment. Sure, he has obvious basketball talent, but he certainly lacks class. As we’ll undoubtedly see through the remainder of his career, he’ll follow the mighty dollar and do what he can to make as much money as he can – a move that I consider to be lacking any class, and entirely self-centered.
That being said, in terms of basketball, one of my absolute favorite things a player can do is to play for the same team their entire career. To me, it shows the player can recognize the importance of a team, instead of basking in their own self-importance.
Ignoring MJ’s stint as a Washington Wizard (after his second retirement), what we’re able to see as a common thread among those men is loyalty. Sure, Jordan was a bit more of a showman than the others (Sloan just struggles to actually act happy… I’m not going to try to get him to please or entertain others). Beyond that, all of these men were/are as loyal to a team as is possible, and in a team sport… that’s classy, and yet another mark of a great person.

Speaking of ’stupid stuff’…what does this have to do with Jesus???? Your focus is on man too much…

Wow, Me, I hope you’re kidding. If not, no one said it had anything to do with Jesus.

Arrogance goes nowhere with me.
John Stockton had none
Michael Jordan had none.
They were truly great. Yes, they knew it, but they did not flaunt it. That’s a true mark of a champion.
